SIG's principals and network of consultants bring years of experience and PhD-level education to the company. Between us, we offer experience in a range of fields, but we are united by our excellence using and developing GIS technology.
Dr. Bijan Khazai,
Principal
 |
Dr. Bijan Khazai brings a multi-disciplinary background in geology, engineering geology and civil and environmental engineering. In addition to his project management work as a principal of SIG, he is a post-doctoral fellow at the Earth Institute at Columbia University, in hazards research. He has also designed and taught GIS courses at UC Berkeley and CSU Hayward. |
Dr. David Saah,
Principal

Dr. David Saah combines years of experience in GIS, landscape ecology, ecosystem science, remote sensing and photogrammetry in both academic and consulting arenas. In addition to his project management work as a pincipal of SIG, he is Assisstant Professor of Environmental Science at the University of San Francisco, where he manages the Geographic Information Science Lab. |
Dr. Austin Troy,

Dr. Austin Troy brings years of experience in GIS, environmental science and environmental economics to SIG. In addition to his project management work as a pincipal of SIG, he is
an Associate Professor at the University of
Vermont in the Rubenstein School of Environment and Natural
Resources and the Department of Computer Science. |
Dr. Jennifer Jenkins, Senior Scientist
 |
Dr. Jenkins is an
internationally-recognized expert in developing methods for
quantifying C sequestration in forests at local, regional, and
national scales, as well as in understanding the spatial and
temporal patterns of forest productivity and C storage. She is a
Research Assistant Professor at the University of Vermont and
President of Carbon Dynamics, LLC. |
Katrin Moffroid,
Associate
 |
Katrin Moffroid received her M.S. degree in
Natural Resources from the University of Vermont
(UVM) in 2006, with a specialization in
Environment, Society, and Public Affairs. She received her B.A.
from Colgate University in 1999 with dual concentration in
Biology and Geography. From 1999-2004, Ms. Moffroid was an
environmental consultant with ICF Consulting in Washington DC
where she focused on climate change policy, green house gas
emission estimation, and stratospheric ozone issues. Her
technical publications include the Inventory of U.S.
Greenhouse Gas Emissions and Sinks, compiled annually for
the U.S. EPA. |
