SIG is currently working with Hawaii’s largest private landowner to help them integrate an ecosystem services framework into their land management planning. SIG’s work includes developing a custom ecosystem service typology, conducting an extensive literature review on ecosystem service research in Hawaii, convening a stakeholder workshop on ecosystem services, review potential strategies for developing ecosystem markets, identifying high-priority lands and potential management strategies on them for ecosystem service-based management, and providing information on triple bottom line accounting strategies.
